Biography & Credentials

About Me

After multiple close family members were diagnosed with cancer, I knew I wanted to be a doctor—specifically, an oncologist. During medical school, I became fascinated with the science behind oncologic diseases, which continues to advance at an outstanding rate. As I began to care for patients during my internal medicine residency and hematology–oncology fellowship, I realized the field of medical oncology is a unique intersection of medicine, science, and compassion. I feel deeply privileged to help care for patients who have cancer.

I treat patients who have malignancies arising in the chest, including lung cancer, thymic cancer, and head and neck cancer. My team and I focus on providing the highest quality, patient-centered care. We use a multidisciplinary approach within a team-oriented environment. Every treatment plan is uniquely tailored to each patient.

In my approach to patient care, I’m very aware that cancer occurs in the context of the rest of a person’s life. My goal is to allow patients to live their lives as normally as possible while receiving appropriate treatment. I also recognize the effect cancer can have—not only on the patient, but on their family members and loved ones—and take into account all of these important considerations when developing treatment plans. I see myself, my patients, their family members, and other specialists who are involved in my patients’ care as being part of a team.
