Just because you can’t feel it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Many people do not recognize the symptoms of oral, head, and neck cancer and by the time these are diagnosed, for some, it’s already too late. However, if diagnosed early, these cancers can be easily treated without significant complications thus increasing the chances of survival.
The Medical City through the Cancer Center, Center for Patient Partnership, and the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is conducting free oral, head and neck cancer screenings from April 23 to 27, 2012 from 11:00 am to 3 pm at the TMC Lobby area, in conjunction with the Oral Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week.
A simple screening can help determine if there is a problem that needs further follow-up which could detect any of the oral, head and neck cancers in their earliest stages.
