The Medical City’s wellness center in the Philippines recognizes the profound impact of lifestyle choices on health. Through personalized plans, we empower individuals to make positive changes in diet, exercise, and stress management, fostering long-term wellness. This commitment to personalized care not only addresses immediate health concerns but equips individuals with the knowledge and tools to embrace healthier lifestyles.
Lifestyle Medicine (LM) or healthy living medicine helps you adopt evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic interventions such as improving diet, increasing physical activity, eliminating smoking, enhancing sleep, and practicing stress reducing techniques to improve and maintain health as well as prevent lifestyle diseases.
You may benefit from an LM consult if you want to learn how to make positive, healthy changes in your lifestyle to prevent and manage lifestyle diseases.
Evidenced-based lifestyle interventions can help prevent and manage lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes mellitus type 2, hypertension, high cholesterol, non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases, and metabolic syndrome, among others.
LM physicians complement - not replace - the care you receive from your other doctors. You can still consult with your doctors regarding other diseases and any acute medical problems.
Lifestyle Medicine Consult
An LM consult is a 30-60-minute-long appointment with a lifestyle medicine doctor who will:
• Take your detailed personal, family, social and medical history
• Learn more about your lifestyle - diet, physical activity, sleep, stress, and other habits
• Assess your health concerns and evaluate your symptoms
• Conduct and interpret body composition analysis
• Provide personalized lifestyle plan and intervention such as nutrition counseling, exercise prescription, sleep and stress habit recommendations
Lifestyle Medicine Programs
