In addition to our comprehensive medical services, The Medical City also operates as an emergency room hospital in the Philippines. The Adult Emergency Department is a 24-hour service department dedicated to immediate and competent first-contact care of patients whose conditions require prompt attention. With our commitment to quality and patient-centered care, The Medical City is a trusted name in emergency treatment units.
The Emergency Department provides immediate medical assessment and initiates treatment. Its capabilities include:
1. Emergent Care
- Cardiopulmonary neurologic resuscitation for Adult and Pediatric Cases
- Life -/ limb-threatening conditions requiring
2. Trauma Care and Burn
3. Poisoning
- ingestion of all types of harmful substances found in household cleaners (i.e., hydrogen peroxide, alkaline chemicals), food poisoning, overdose of all types of medicines and illegal drugs
4. Urgent Care
- Consultation and initial diagnostic work-up
- Initial order for patients requiring emergency admission
5. Non-Urgent Care
- Bite Management
- Ambulatory services
- Loading of Antibiotics
6. Isolation Room
- ordinary isolation room can hold patients with chicken pox, tuberculosis and measles; while Airborne Isolation (AI Unit) can accommodate patients diagnosed to manifest symptoms of Ebola and MERS-CoV

The Medical City Children’s Emergency Department provides 24 hours a day for 365 days a year service, to children ages 0 to 18 years old. This emergency care unit is dedicated to providing first-hand contact care to patients requiring acute care. Implementing a multi-disciplinary team approach, Children’s ER works closely with doctors with various pediatric subspecialties to provide customized healthcare for children.

To address the threat of highly infectious diseases like Ebola and MERS-COV, The Medical City has established an airborne isolation unit. The emergency care department’s healthcare workers receive specialized training to effectively manage these diseases and ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
