Labor and Delivery Suite Complex
IWH believes that each woman has the right to play an active role in how she experiences labor and childbirth. IWH is equipped to support a woman’s decision whether she chooses to have epidural anesthesia during the birth of her child or if she is interested in pursuing non-medicated birth. We also recognize that each childbirth is unique; some women may go into labor on their own while others may need a scheduled induction of labor or a cesarean delivery. No matter the birth experience, IWH provides the labor and birth options for a safe and healthy childbirth.
Labor and birth. IWH believes that each woman has the right to play an active role in how she experiences labor and childbirth. IWH is equipped with specialty rooms where a woman can experience labor and childbirth, including Labor Rooms, Lamaze Rooms and Birthing Suite. With delivery rooms and operating theaters for childbirth, IWH provides the labor and birth options for a safe and healthy delivery, no matter the birth experience. IWH believes in the power of the mother and baby’s first embrace (Unang Yakap) and ensures that early essential newborn care is provided for all newborns. IWH also offers collection of cord blood. Cord blood is the blood left behind in the placenta and umbilical cord after the baby is born that is normally thrown away. It is a rich source of blood-forming stem cells that can be very valuable for both children and adults needing bone marrow transplants.
Gynecologic surgery. IWH offers more options for surgical treatment of gynecologic conditions. All surgical treatments at IWH follow The Medical City’s Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocol, focusing on the involvement of our patients as active participants in their own recovery. For gynecologic conditions requiring open surgery, our gynecologic surgery team works to give women the best quality of life with little down time. This include the following services:
- Myomectomy
- Hysterectomy
- Ovarian and tubal surgery
- Gynecologic cancer surgery
- Vaginal and perineal repair
- Pelvic reconstructive surgery for incontinence and prolapse
Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. For other conditions amenable to minimally invasive technique, our surgery team offers the most advanced surgery options for comfort and quick recovery, including laparoscopy and physician-assisted robotic surgery. This includes the following services:
