Pre-Labor Room

IWH offers the most advanced medical care tailored to meet a woman’s individual needs. We believe that every pregnancy journey is unique and that every woman deserves to receive personalized care throughout her pregnancy, labor and birth and in the days following childbirth.

IWH offers immediate assessment and treatment of women with conditions relating specifically to pregnancy, as well as gynecologic conditions that require urgent treatment. This service is available at the Pre-labor Room, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Pregnant women with symptoms of labor, or those experiencing any of the danger signs of pregnancy are immediately assessed evaluated comprehensively. Women with gynecologic complaints such as abnormal vaginal bleeding or severe or sudden pelvic pain are assessed and given immediate management. If admission is necessary with no urgent need for intensive monitoring, women are admitted at the Women’s Health Floor, a separate unit at The Medical City exclusively designated for women. Women in labor or those for surgery, are admitted to the Labor and Delivery Suite while those requiring close maternal and fetal monitoring are admitted in the Maternal Intensive Care Unit.
