Preventive Gynecologic Screening

The annual well woman visit is the first step a woman can do in taking charge of her body and her health. IWH offers a well woman visit that includes determining whether preventive gynecologic exams such as a pap smear are needed, discussing potential signs and symptoms of gynecologic cancer, detecting any breast lumps or abnormalities, and screening for HPV and sexually transmitted infections.

Gynecologic health conditions are those that affect, or result from a problem with, a woman’s reproductive system. It includes health conditions such as menstrual pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, endometriosis, fibroids or myoma, pelvic pain, infertility or pelvic floor problems causing incontinence or prolapse. IWH helps women maintain a balanced and healthy reproductive system throughout her life with preventive gynecologic screening, diagnosis and treatment of specific gynecologic problems.
