The Medical City Inaugurates New Hospital in Angeles

26 July 2011 – In line with its thrust to develop a national network serving a wider geographic and socio-economic base, The Medical City (TMC) inaugurated The Medical City-Angeles. Present during the inauguration were Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, Pampanga and TMC officials led by Chairman of the Board Dr. Augusto P. Sarmiento, President and CEO Dr. Alfredo R. A. Bengzon and TMC-Angeles Medical Director Dr. Ronald Campos.

A level two facility with a capacity of 50 beds, the former Mercedes Medical Center was acquired last year together with Great Saviour International Hospital in Iloilo, now known as The Medical City-Iloilo, and a group of outpatient clinics in Dagupan, Olongapo and Cavite. The hospital offers a wide range of services, including laboratory, imaging, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, ENT, ophthalmology, orthopedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

“TMC-Angeles and the other Luzon clinics are positioned to create value and synergy as network spokes to TMC-Clark which will be operational in two years, explained Margaret A. Bengzon, Head of TMC’s Strategic Services Group. “These facilities are directed at such niche markets as US military retirees and dependents that have settled in their catchment areas, as well the growing local corporate and industrial sector here.”
