The Medical City Recognized for World-Class Healthcare Standards by JCI

A dual success for The Medical City as Ortigas secures its 7th JCI accreditation and TMC Clark earns its first, setting new standards inn healthcare excellence.

The Medical City (TMC) marks two major milestones in its pursuit of world-class healthcare with the 7th consecutive accreditation of The Medical City Ortigas (TMC Ortigas) and the first-ever accreditation of The Medical City Clark (TMC Clark) by the Joint Commission International (JCI).

On October 23, 2024, during its 57th Anniversary opening ceremony, TMC Ortigas announced its 7th consecutive JCI accreditation, reinforcing its commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement. JCI is the global leader in healthcare quality standards, accrediting only hospitals that meet rigorous international benchmarks. TMC has passed the world’s most rigorous healthcare standard — not just once, but consistently for over 15 years.

Dr. Ruben G. Kasala, Executive Vice President and CEO of TMC Ortigas, shared, “Receiving our 7th consecutive JCI accreditation is a significant milestone for The Medical City. It demonstrates our steadfast commitment to improving our services and providing exceptional patient care.” He added, “This accreditation reminds us that the true essence of quality healthcare is the patient experience and inspires us to keep raising the bar."                   

TMC Ortigas also celebrated the JCI accreditation of its Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Clinical Care Program, the first and only AMI program of its kind in the Philippines with JCI certification. Surveyors described it as “the star in the firmament of the Philippine health landscape,” reflecting TMC’s leadership in heart attack care.


 TMC Clark joins the ranks of world-class hospitals with its first JCI accreditation.

    

Meanwhile, on December 13, 2024, The Medical City Clark (TMC Clark) earned its first JCI accreditation, receiving the Gold Seal of Approval® and establishing itself as a leader in healthcare excellence in North and Central Luzon. TMC Clark is the only hospital outside Metro Manila to achieve this distinction, bringing world-class care closer to communities beyond the capital region.
